And the world comes to a stop...

Due to the recent earthquake in Taiwan which damaged some under sea cables, internet connectivity across Asia has slowed drastically. In this age of high speed internet access where service providers battle to out do one another, this disruption on the internet may actually do us some good. Its like God's little way of telling us to slow down. As 2006 comes to an end, its time to look back on this past year and reflect on our lives. Have we achieve our resolution? Or are we going to let it snowball into the next year?

Indeed, if it wasn't for the horrible net speed, I wouldn't even be typing all these. Because of this internet catastrophe, I have stop WoW for 3 days already and I must say its a very detoxifying feeling. in these 3 days I did more stuff than I did in the last 3 months. I finally ripped the songs which my friend burned for me since feb and realized I actually have so many good songs. I read about 50 over of my unread emails and most importantly I started running again! I've been procrastinating horribly on exercise since my injury. come to think of it, I've been doing nothing but WoWing, wowing and more wowing. I finally started watching some of my animes and shows which I downloaded but haven't got the time to watch. I also met up with melvyn on tuesday to take my A level cert from him which is totally long over due. we chatted over lunch and he went with me to shop around for a watch for my dad. I bought this guess watch for dad and I'm glad he like it. I made him wear it wherever he went!

I'm going to spend the last 2 days of the year in camp! Why why must I book in today. Why do I always do weekend duties. Why am I so kind to allow my understudy to go holiday while I take over his duties! oh well, another weekend spent in JGL watching cartoon and reading newspaper. Time to pack bag...

As another year comes to an end...

Well its been way way too long since i last wrote anything. i must have lost the interest to blog or was simply too lazy. Anyway, since yesterday was the last episode of beyblade, i have a little extra time today to sort of revive my blog.

I remember when i first started blogging almost 2 years ago was mainly because i was enlisting into army and wanted a space to pen my thoughts. Look at me now, 41 days to ORD!!!!!!! I cannot wait to ORD, most of my friends have already left the army in nov and dec. Pity i enlisted in April, but i guess enlisting later has its advantages too.

So as another year ends, i find time to sit down and reflect on what i have done or rather what happened this past year thats worth mentioning. First thing that came to my mind was my little stint working in a hospital back in feb. i dare say thats the best part of my army life, the experience i gained, the joy and sorrow i saw in people puts my life into perspective and ripened me further. Then there is ka's birthday party, one that my friends and i hava been celebrating for the past 6 years. it has become a tradition every dec 23 to gather at his house for christmas and birthday fun. its very heart warming to see all your friends again, some whom you might have already lost contact with come together and mingle as if we were never that far apart. this year's party was different as we were celebrating it at east coast chalet. ka's mom booked "the beacon", a little club in the sea sports club for his birthday but to me going to his house is still so much more fun. Where there is a club there are drinks, horrible alcoholic drinks that makes the brain go wuzzy. those stupid adults keep asking us to drink drink drink. I never like alcohol so i made up this reason for not drinking, there has to be a sober one among my friends to look out for them and its me! well, that worked for a while so my next plan was taking those little cups which was originally filled with tequila and filled them with water instead. so everytime they cheers, i'd be drinking water. they were too drunk to notice anything. Naturally everyone wanted to make the birthday boy drunk to the bone and drunk to the bone he became. so guess who was the one going to the toilet with him and watching him puke his guts out not once but 4 times!!! me of course. i'm bringing a cam-corder next year, i'm going to film all these funny antics down.

Guess who i met at my family's christmas party this year! it was my lao shi! miss kok! she taught me in J1 back in MJ. it was a very pleasant surprise and i was shock she still recognized me. i still remeber on the last day she was teaching us, i ask her what should i call u if i ever see u outside of school, i can't possibly be calling her miss kok. She told us her name and i remember saying it sounded like the names of people in sword fighting shows. something like Yehong gu niang or yehong nui xia. Its always great to meet some one whom u haven met for a long time, especially during christmas.

Its time for justice league! i'm off. Pray the next entry won't be 6 months later.
